College means jack once his bowl game is over Okie. How many of these over hyped studs make the grade anymore in the NFL. Answer: not too many. Only one current NFL QB that had obtained a lot of college hype has made it real big in the NFL and that is Peyton Manning. Eli won a SB, but won't rise to his brother's level of play. Flacco and Ryan were under the radar so to speak. Ryan did get some hype at BC, but not a whole lot compared to what the "dream 3" are getting now. Plus, Ryan is fading as of late. Not saying Bradford won't make it, but the odds are against him. Think about our sorry post Gibbs I past with QBs. The most successful QB in terms of wins if I am not mistake is my man Gus, and he came from Tulsa(Hey another Okie!!!!) a smaller university with not much fanfare. To me the thing is this. THese overhyped guys are from college football powerhouses totally stacked with talent, which usually totally outgun the competition. Add the fact that the Big 12 isn't known for defense and you can get a Colt Brennan type thing with Hawaii. In the NFL, Sam isn't going to have such an overwhelming advantage. IN DC his line won't be super dominant like the one he enjoys in Norman.

Hey I agree 100% but we have to address this QB situation soon, so y not start this draft?

Okie I am with you. We have no choice, absolutely no choice but to draft a QB. My worry is Danny will go for the sexy pick and the guy is another dud ala Schuler. Bradford is a standup kid, and a real talent for sure, but Oklahoma is a superpower totally loaded on all fronts with talent. Playing in a conference not known for defensive play also helps his stats. With that situation Stoops could plug in any blue chip HS QB from TX and the Sooners would be in the BCS hunt every year with that setup. The guys that seem to make it are the guys from smaller, lesser known places that are the ones that make their team special. Big Ben is the best example at Miami, OH. Pike and Lefevour are like that. If Central Mich doesn't have Lefevour, they would vie with my Alma Mater(Eastern Mich) as the crappiest team in the MAC.

I say we address OL in the 1st or 2nd this coming draft, after a possible trade down to acquire more picks, then take more OL later in the draft. Then later, in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th round, maybe a QB. SB winning QBs do not all come in the 1st round. Warner and Brady snap immediately to mind. The more picks, the better, as long as we don't stick with the WR/TE/WR theme! All of this after we get rid of look-inna-my-eyz vinnie!
