It is my understanding that the Redskins wouldn't have to pay him or wouldn't have to pay him much if he's picked up.

If a team picks LJ up off the waiver wire (which means before 4 PM eastern time on 11/10), then that acquiring team also picks up his moneies owed. And LJ is carrying a 2.1Mill price tag right now.

The "Waiver Wire" is done in the order of the draft, each team gets a chance in that order to pick him up.

If no team picks him up off the wire (before 4PM EST), then he becomes and unrestricted free agent and can be signed by any team, but, the contract negotiations start all over and he looses that 2.1 mill.

No, the Chiefs owe him. It was written in his contract. Normally that is correct though.

No team claimed running back Larry Johnson off waivers, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, which means Johnson now is free to sign with any team and the Kansas City Chiefs must pay him the balance of the $2.1 million left on his contract this season.

That is because he was on the Chiefs roster for week 1 of the regular season.

He didn't say we wouldn't sign him. He said he doesn't have time to interview him. Like it's Zorn decision anyway, lol we all know if its anybody's decision its Vinny's.

We are far enough into the season that waivers work in order of current records, not previous draft position. For example, the Redskins drafted 13th but now are around position 6 (depending on tiebreakers) for waivers.

Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson

It doesnt surprise me now that the talk has simmered down.

I remember when we picked up Shaun Alexander last season. Portis wasn't very nice to him and you could tell that there was alot of animosity. I got the feeling from listening to him talk that CP was jealous of Alexander for what he had done early in his career.

But i see him being the same way about Larry Johnson. He'd take it personal that they'd bring in a guy that is just as good, maybe better than him at this point in his career.

This is different tho because Larry Johnson isn't a backup RB. If we brought him in now, there is a good chance we keep him next season. And with all the stuff about Portis' decline and the uncapped off-season, i think it creates too much of a locker room drama. I could totally see Portis going to Dan Snyder and giving him hell about bringing in another marquee back...
