Re: Haynesworth Appreciation Thread

Maybe the best thing that could happen for Albert would be a defensive coordinator with a scheme designed to take advantage of what he does best. Blaches' scheme does not provide that and one can clearly see his frustration as a result of it. I'm for keeping the big guy happy in hopes of getting his best effort all the time. His not being happy with the scheme could explain his attitude and his in and out of the lineup. He's not our first DL player that has acused the DC of holding them back. Scheme to fit the player as oposed to insisting the player fit the scheme.

I agree wholeheartedly that Blache needs to go and we need a DC who will more effectively use Big Al. That said, i'm not at all dissatisfied with what we've seen from Haynesworth this year. Haynesworth plays more snaps than almost any other defensive player. When he's on the field, he gives 100% every play. He doesnt stay on the field and "take plays off" like alot of guys. When he's tired, he comes out for a play or two so a guy with fresh legs can give 100%. Haynesworth has been worth every penny and i do not understand the hate he gets here.

I'm hoping when the new coaching staff is asembled whoever is head trainer will work with him on his conditioning. That should be his number one priority during the offseason, to come into training camp in better physical condition.

The one thing that concerns me about that little altercation in monday nights game is that it seems to always be the same people involved. I would like to see players cease activity once the whistle blows.

The new coaching staff just needs to learn to utilize haynesworth (and orakpo and landry, for that matter) more effectively. It completely baffles me how we've got a defensive coordinator that is grossly misusing 27% of his defensive starters. however, considering his mentor is someone who misused lavar arrington and ran him out of time, we shouldn't be surprised.

as far as the altercation goes, i agree, activity should cease when the whistle blows. however, you've got to give haynesworth props for having the desire to defend his teammates. one thing that i think has been grossly lacking on this team under zorn's tenure is a sense of team.

I agree, and the principle I alluded to in reference to the altercation is not limited in scope, it should be applied at all times in every game throughout the league.
