this is what i've been prediciting for a while (tooting my own horn - ok, done now).
cowher makes perfect sense for new york. if he's content to wait for coughlin to retire or get fired, more power to him. the longer coughlin stays, the better it will be for us.

EVERYONE in our division has beaten up on us over the past 6 years. we've been a pretty bad team for a while if you hadnt noticed. Cowher's a better coach than coughlin (career record) and coughlin doesnt have much left in the tank anyways. our best bet is for coughlin to stay a couple years, cowher to grow impatient, and sign somewhere else. then, when coughlin finally retires, there will be atleast one less elite candidate available to take over the job.
