Re: Dallas Signs Shaun Suisham

Suisham cashed two playoff game checks - - courtesy of the hissy-fit that Danny Boy threw during the season. [For the record, that is two more playoff game checks than anyone on the current Skins' roster cashed this season...]

Thge Cowboys would have lost the game this weekend even if Suisham had been able to connect on every field goal he tried from 70 yards and closer. He surely did not help the Cowboys - - but he didn't lose the game for them. They just sucked wind as a team and not as a "field goal special team"...

Had Danny Boy not kicked Suisham to the curb during the season, Suisham would not have augmented his income with playoff money. Sure looks to me as if Suisham's "punishment" by the Skins for missing field goals here was pretty feckless...

Hog1:

I am a pragamtist. Danny Boy is not going to sell the team so long as it makes a huge profit year after year after year. And the only way for an NFL franchise NOT to make a huge profit year after year after year is for the owner to be dumber than a pipe wrench. For the record, Danny Boy is NOT dumber than a pipe wrench - - except maybe when it comes to assembling a good football TEAM.

So, I don't worry about the keys to the "Danny Boy Sell The Team Truck". If someone REALLY wanted to make Danny Boy THINK about selling the Redskins then that someone would have to concoct a way to bring two hugely important things in Danny Boy's life into conflict with each other such that he would have to make a choice:

Thing #1: Making lots of money and being "in the news".

Thing #2: His ego.

IF it became a significant ego-bruise every time Danny Boy showed his face in public or at FedEx Field such that the networks picked it up and played it up, he MIGHT start to weigh the benefits of the money he makes from the Skins against the fact that he would be humiliated by fans every time his presence was sensed.

Other than that, deal with the fact of Danny Boy's ownership of the team. He is only 44 years old; according to actuarial tables, he will be alive for the next 31 years. Say it slowly - - - Thirty ... One ... Years ...

Well.....for the record, I do not believe that DS will part with the team any time...soon, nor do I want him to. He has done many foolish things to bring us to the place we now reside as a team. I think for the first time, he realizes it.
Through it all do I believe he did WHAT he did trying to win (albeit misguidedly on occasion).
AND I DO believe he has made the right moves this off-season, and is on the road to assembling a quality staff and team the way we have wanted.
Is that what you think?
