why not just call it an internship? calling it a "minority internship" makes it seem like he's being offered the job to fill some sort of quota and not beause he's legitimately qualified for the job.

Two possibilities, one legit:

1) that is just the term used to fulfill tax and legal requirements for the spot.

2) he saved enough and became minority owner of the team and now is interning to take over DS's spot
