Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
I'm with you Pocket. People are totally overreacting and want the Redskins to sign every two-bit free agent available. I like this approach and the reality is we're not going to address every need in this free agency period or this draft. It just isn't going to happen.
This front office is taking a very measured, systematic, and (emotionally) detached approach to building the roster. If Jason Campbell steps up his game just a little and we add one good offensive lineman, I think the pieces are in place for a serious playoff run. You have to figure the difference in coaching alone will net us at least 3 games. Breathe guys, breathe... |

It's just encouraging to see a FO structure with a plan as opposed to a fix. The time has come when all the (good fit's) as we love to refer to them as, will have to fit someplace else. Vinny is gone, hopefully to never return. |

And as it's been stated here as well as other threads, there weren't a ton of quality free agents out there, unless you're giving up a top tier pick. Take the Bears for instance, they're not rebuilding they're trying to save face and a few asses. Two people, among a few others, that I feel will be key to how far we go this year will Jason Campbell, for obvious reasons, and Levi Jones. He's the big wild card I'm counting on. If this guy can kill it in training camp and just become NFL starting material, I think we're on our way. Chad Rinehart, eh? I don't know, he should improve but I'm counting on Levi to step up more than Chad, although I'd be happy with either doing a good job. |

Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
All I know is he signed a FA contract last year. I'm not sure if the Skins have decided to keep him or what, to be honest. I'd like to see him back in camp and competing for a starting spot at tackle.

I know he said he wanted to play LT last year & waited for a team to sign him to do so, but he might want to consider playing RT at this point in his career. He seems like the athletic kind of linemen that would do well in Shanny's scheme. Anyone have info? |
