I like Blades as well, but Davis has tons of experience playing in the 3-4 and we really need an ILB with 3-4 experience to play alongside Fletcher.

Ya but are you really prepared to have 34/31 year old veterans be the highlight of our defense? Correct me if I'm wrong about their ages, but it just seems to completely go against this whole rebuilding phase. If it was my team I'd be drafting an ILB in the fourth to sit behind Fletcher while him and Blades start.

Their ages are correct. I would definitely be content with Fletcher and Davis being our starting ILBs this year. Obviously it's not ideal, considering their ages, but like I said Davis brings tons of 3-4 experience to our defense, while Blades has never played in a 3-4 before. Fletcher and Davis would, probably, only be our starting ILBs for the 2010 season, while other players are groomed and gain enough experience to be competant starting ILBs in a 3-4 defense.

Doesn't mean that they'll be the highlight. Nobody guaranteed that Davis would start.

You know how we've been complaining for years about our depth? How so much was tied into the 1st string that there was barely any competition and our 2nd string might not make other teams? Isn't it GOOD that we get a guy that might be able to START for another team to compete for a spot rather than just give the spot to somebody and put some scrub in behind him?
