Re: Can Colt Brennan beat Rex Grossman for number 2 spot

I honestly would be surprised if Brennan gets cut. There are just way too many other needs to pick a QB before the 6th, unless there was a guy they were just in love with that somehow slipped from a third round prospect to the 5th or later. And since you got a good chance of putting most picks after the 6th on the practice squad without losing them to another team, so a late round "project" pick or UDFA would likely go there.

I think there is a chance Brennan gets traded if the Shannys dont think he will ever be a starter for our team, but only if someone is willing to give us something which i dont think is too likely.

I also dont think Brennan has a chance to overstep Rex unless McNabb goes down and Rex comes in and sucks it up. I dont think there is ever a big line between the 2nd and 3rd qb. Its just which one do you pay more, was once a starter ealier in his career, or may be marginally better is the 2nd. And the 3rd is the one that needs to be ready incase the 2nd turns out to suck it up or get hurt because hes not used to doing shit.

Plus since McNabb is our QB for a few more years there is no immenant need to draft a 2nd, 3rd or 4th round QB right now, next year will be just as good. Although we are already missing out 3rd or 4th next year....
