There was a time when what seemed like a good solid majority were incredulous at the idea that JC might not be the quarterback of the future after all. I guess most people had hope at the beginning -- personally, my optimism for him faded faster than others. I always had some leeway for him because the receivers were suspect, and the O-line by late 2008 and throughout '09 end gave him no chance.

So I sort of wanted to call out all those people who argued practically to the death that JC is the QB the future, that he just needs one more chance. But I won't.

As for the "respect" that he is due? Well ... he seemed like a nice fella.

Yes, very nice post. It's tough for "fans" to step back and take a honest look at their players. JC, while a dedicated, tough, stand up guy, is not a guy that's going to lead this franchise to championships. He's a decent, maybe slightly above average qb who's a great guy from all accounts.
