Re: Haynesworth trade possibly in the works
I need to hear this from Shefter and Glazer first.
La Confora (how ever you spell it) is trying to create buzz on a hunch.

Everyone knows Schefter is the best media source for all things Shanny. Pure speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if Shanny said, "hey Adam, float this one for me and I'll make sure you're the first in the media to get juice on the team." Either way, Albert has flat out robbed the Redskins. If he gets traded, he'll have been paid $32M for 12 games. That's $2.67M per game. LOL. What a shitshow Cerrato and Co were.

And everyone needs to realize that we won't be a full-time 3-4 this year. In fact, if I had to guess, I think 4-3 will still be our base, with occasional 3-4 look thrown in. We just don't have the personnel and draft picks to become a base 3-4 right away. It's got to be a gradual transition.

I honestly feel AH really wants to go down as, The Badest M-Fer to play the game and his pride wont let him have the word "BUST" attached to his name. He is an ALPHA DOG. I so agree with you on the unbolded statement.

If Haynesworth is traded for a second round pick or whatever, we will have gained draft picks, as Synder will have essentially bought whatever pick we get for 28 million dollars or however much we've paid Al to date. Maybe you don't like this if you are Snyder's financial adviser, but as a fan I don't see how you can be anything other than happy that we are gaining a high draft choice we wouldn't have otherwise had. |

Re: Haynesworth trade possibly in the works
That's a different argument, whether or not we should keep AH. I tend to think we should. However, I was responding to a post comparing his signing to the Jason Taylor trade; my point is that there is no scenario in which we will not be better off as a team for having signed Haynesworth, front office profligacy notwithstanding, since we will at the very least be producing a new draft pick out of thin air (and 28 million one dollar bills).

Then why are sources telling him about us looking at Green as a possible replacement? I tell you what if the Lions do go for AH and still draft Suh we are going to be in a world of hurt in Sept when they play again in Ford Field. I have seen the Skins play the Lions the past 3 games up here in Detroit, and we have only the 2008 win to our credit, and we almost blew that one!!! I hope it is all some sort of hype job, but I don't think it looks good if AH cuts all the voluntary stuff out. Any serious player would want to get a head start learning a new scheme and just hainging out with teammates, learning plays ,etc. Yeah, you can say it is still voluntary, but it is a new scheme, etc. If I was a player I would want a head start boning up on it. |
