Guess what, Jim Schwartz LET HIM freelance and the Titans reaped the substantial benefits of that freelancing by having one of the most dominating defenses out of the 32 teams in the league in 2008. Football is not a 19th century textile factory in which you could easily replace a sewing machine operator with another worker and not give a shit about your employees. You use your players in an OPTIMAL manner, not in a satisficing manner, and if Shanahan WILL NOT ALLOW any sort of FEEDBACK from his players, then he needs his own ego check.
