Here's hoping that a scenario directly parallel to this one in Oakland does not play itself out in Washington with Albert Haynesworth as the central figure...

Some of the elements are in place:

1. Lots of money paid up front as guaranteed $$$ to player.

2. Player seems not overly dedicated to physical fitness/weight control.

3. First year results less than stellar...

Not gonna start a rehash of a billion AH threads, but #3 seems ridiculous. Saying Jamarcus Russell's results were "less than stellar" is way overselling what he "accomplished". And with AH, we got exactly what realistic people expected, a few injury games. but also a force in the middle when he played. If someone expected more, than they were looking at a crazy contract and putting crazy expectations on, not what this guy could legitimately bring to the team and set expectations appropriately.
