You're scenario is also making the assumption that even if the jury was "lily white", a white person is going to automatically convict a black person because of racism. I don't live in SC but I do work with the some of the Navy civilians in the Charleston area (most of the folks I work with are white) and none appear to be racists. I find that premise of your scenario to be offensive and racist.
