Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
I've fliped floped back & forth on this one but now I see it this way unless SD take a 6th rounder for him from us then wait till 2011 and sign him for nothing.

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
I'm 50/50 on this issue as well...
Part of me is like.."Well, I sure don't want to drop 1st or 2nd round picks for a guy that could be as bad a character (dui/suspensions) as the guy we are having issues with currently in Fat Al and would try if only it cost us 3rd,4th or lower picks to get him" And the other part of me is like...are we going to have a chance for another WR with the skill sets as V-Jack...be it FA next season or even the draft? We've passed on TO,we failed to get guys like Boldin,Marshall and S.Holmes....Does the team have an urgency here or fine with what they have? We obviously saw a weakness against the Cowboys granted they have a good D as well, but when all your targets are Moss or Cooley and maybe Davis....that's scares me a little, specially considering injuries these days... A 6'5" WR with athletic ability and good on the fade routes that Armstrong failed twice on,could really help this team out. Not only give opposing Defenses something else to worry about, but help Mcnabb out as well in the comfort level. If we can get this guy without dropping 1st or 2nd round picks....even if it costs us multiple lower round picks including 3rds....you have to try to get this guy...imo But I would also make sure they have a plan in place to give him a longterm extension! We don't need another Jason Taylor scenario and watch V-Jack leave after 3/4's of a season only to go back to the chargers...lol Know what I mean? And we need to lock Mcnabb up as well! The Giants won the Sb running a fade to Plexiglass, just like V-Jack could do for us... We don't have this guys skill set of attributes on the team. and playing teams on our schedule of the likes as G.B...Minny and the Colts...we need some more help!

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
So let me see if I got this right.....
We should let Cooley ride the pine and replace him with the talented Davis? All because Cooley gets double teamed? I would argue that Cooley is doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing. See across the board most likely someone is going to get double teamed. If Cooley is getting it then someone else should be single covered and or open, ie; Moss, Armstrong, Galloway... But keep in mind this will happen to anyone. Moss might be double covered this week, should we replace him with R.Williams? Opponents are going to double whoever they think is McNabb's security blanket. If it's Cooley or Davis so be it. If it's Armstrong so be it. Maybe your refering to a two TE set. We had one game. I didn't expect the HC to throw everything, his whole arsenal at Dallas so other teams can see what we can or can't do and game plan around it. Be patient. Maybe this week Davis gets the majority of the bulk. |

I keep hearing that outside Santana Moss, the Skins don't have any weapons at Wide Receiver. The Skins don't have ANY receiving threats, period! It's not 2005. I can stab someone with my car key, but that doesn't make it a weapon. The Skins should get Jackson and should have gotten TJ Who's your momma. It would take both of them for the Skins to have an NFL caliber Receiving corps. |

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
As far as the Cooley and Davis talk, we can still use both on the field at the same time with one of them lined up as a WR.

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
I really hope we end up getting this guy, he'll make a huge difference to our team, and plus I'm getting tired of talking about him all the time.

So I take it you know Vincent Jackson personally. What do you guys talk about?

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
IMHO, Cooley, Davis, and DT should all be on the field when we're throwing the ball in the Red Zone. Big guys with strong hands.
I really hate to see that some people here are ready to declare DT a bust. I understand, but I just can't bring myself to believe that he might not make it. He has way too much talent not to make it. His physical gifts are exceptional. When he was drafted, we knew that he hadn't played much football at a high level and that it would take time for him to develop. In my mind, when I think of DT of think of the fact that Art Monk didn't break out until his 4th season. Art was a RB in college, so it took him awhile to learn the WR position. I stiil have high hopes for DT. If he works anywhere near as hard as Art Monk did, then I think he will succeed in the NFL. Here's an idea: the Skins should explore the possibility of Art becoming a mentor for DT. As for VJ, I think he could make a big contribution to this team but I don't think we're likely to trade for him. |

1. He was amazing on kick returns last week and in an era where the wedge is illegal thats hard to find. I've never seen someone who could be successful at kick returning and offense at the same time on a consistent basis. 99 times out of 100 one of those areas is going to take a hit. 2. Are his hands and route running up to speed. All the physical talent in the world can't make up for not having these two areas handled. If he can't do this he'll be just as effective as Galloway was last week. Of course some people are taking Devin's inability to break the starting lineup a little to seriously. MrDevinThomas GO GREEN! GOODNIGHT! ; ) about 10 hours ago via web Mick8807 @MrDevinThomas its sickening u care about the Spartans then the skins. I can see why yer behind old ass Joey Galloway ...wake up boy! about 5 hours ago via Twitter for Android in reply to MrDevinThomas Russellmania09 Don't expect much use as a WR out of Devin Thomas this Sunday, which I think is a mistake. Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
I read somewhere the trade deadline is sept 22nd for VJ? Guess we'll see what happens tonight.. In their second game against a defense that gave up over 400 yards of passing last week. That's two weeks since McNabb got back from his injury, one more week for the offensive line to gel together (despite a weird rotating system), and one more week for the guys to learn the offense.
So today, IF DT starts actually playing, if F.Davis gets into the mix, if Armstrong becomes a stud, if Galloway - no, he's probably done.. --- if all that happens maybe we're in better shape than we thought. If we don't do well this week, perhaps that's when we make a push for VJ. Come McNabb - start making our WRs look better than they are. 5.5 hours to go. |

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"
I can't remember the last time we had a thread last this long for a guy who isn't even on the skins roster ... That being said, word is that Jackson will be a Viking Soon, heard it this morning on espn radio.
