Seriously.
Well my last name's Campbell, so the jersey thing didn't work out too well for me.

Re: Beck to The Future?

Glad to see they showed some faith in Johnny. IMVHO the difference between his first Preseason Game and the drive against the JETS #1 Defense showed how well he has progressed. Now with them showing him they want him its time for John to step up and play like I feel he can. This upcomming game will be interesting.

Go get'em Johnny!

Re: Beck to The Future?

From what I understand, and I don't really know the specifics they actually did save some money in the long run by signing him to this extension.

But this probably means that a 6th WR or 4th RB won't make the final roster

So what do you guys think about Beck, say, next year. Think he's a viable number two or perhaps a starter in this league one day?

Khary Campbell was a pretty good special teams player for a few years.

Next year he's 30...a number two is pretty much his ceiling.

Though if he wants to do the Todd Collins career path, he's got a pretty good start already.

Re: Beck to The Future?

Is Beck old and a rookie, because he did the Mormon mission thing and started his NFL career late? I see he went to BYU?

I guess they actually save money in the short term

I think Bartel looks much better than Beck. Beck's release is too much of a sidearm, I think his ceiling is a #3 and that's about it.

I have joked about Bartel, but in all seriousness I agree.

Either guy is a 3rd stringer at best. It will pretty hard to be a #2 on this squad, with two SB QBs ahead of you.

Re: Beck to The Future?

To be honest I have seen more positives from Bartel in the preseason then Beck, and Bartel is a rookie as well so I would think there my be a bigger upside to Bartel.

Beck has been in the league since 2007 so he is already a journeyman in only a 3 year career. 3 teams 3 years... journeyman

Bartel's not a rookie. He's bounced around the league Cowboys, Brown, Jags, Skins the past three years. Difference is he wasn't a 2nd round pick
