Looks like they weren't able to trade him. I'm sure a team like the Bills could use him.

It's funny that you mention the draft, because they have kept only two out of the 10 players selected in the 2010 draft (T. Williams and Riley). If picked up on the PS you can count Austin...but not really.

We only had 6 picks, and only 2 of them were before round 6. Most late round picks don't make the team.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown

they are getting future late picks in the future with trades of the old regimes diamonds in the ruff...rough is in the eye in the beholder. Late round picks with all of our normal picks will pay in the long run! Some can say he is building the team long rang through the draft.

Tryon for late pick and possible Rheinhart for late (still in question)

But he wants to win...it is a fine line!

Can't use our past drafts to counter my argument anyway, as we give away our first two round picks just about every draft, which indeed is part of my argument!!!

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown

Most late picks don't turn into starters, but it's somewhat uncommon for them not to make a team. It's probably safe to say that the draft was underwhelming, though it's good to say we kept the best players in our camp, not just the guys we drafted.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown

Building a team through the draft is as poor a plan as signing older free agents to big contracts. The only way to build a team is by solid talent evaluation, reasoned planning, and long term goals. To be frustrated at this years situation because we actually cut draft picks is IMO not really looking at how good teams are built. Every contender cuts picks, scours waiver wires, and picks up players that fit their system. 10 years of Skins mismanagement has really skewed our fan reactions.

Lets give this FO a couple years before we roast them.

# granthpaulsen

Bryant & Jarmon sticking on DL make things tough for Howard Green. Golston, Haynesworth, Maake, Carriker, Daniels, Holiday gives you 8 DL but you can't have 8 DL, 9 LB (Henson would be 9th), 4 safeties and 5 C CBs. One too many. If Westbrook and Barnes are in, a LB won't be. half a minute ago via web

RT @LarryWeisman: #Rams cut FB Dennis Morris, a rookie recently traded to them by the #Redskins. 2 minutes ago via ÜberTwitter

Joey Galloway still has some left in the tank, as does Housh, but they are at the twilight of their careers and probably won't be here when we do get to the "promised " land.
I don't get it though. What is the pattern? Use your draft picks to address areas of need while picking up cheap vets to fill holes that you can't address through the draft? To me, that's a pretty sound strategy to at least be semi-competitive year in and year out.

Now, had we spent our first rounder on an RB or WR I would have been pissed, but I really think they have a plan to make us good now AND build for the future at the same time.

You mean like Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly? There's your draft studs right there.
