Speaking of being open, Joey Galloway was nowhere to be found. I guess speed is one thing, getting open is another.

Re: Game Balls

I am going to echo a lot of what has been said already but a couple guys that deserve game ball nominations were guys I did not think would do much.

Landry - glad to see him be a ball hawk, other than the missed sack on Romo. Great Game!
Rak - Thought you were over-rated last year, I was wrong, you are a beast, my bad. Great Game!
DT - I can't believe you can't beat out Joey Galloway. Great job on returns though!
Rogers - OK brick hands catch it when it comes to you, Great game in coverage though!

Guys that I thought would play well that did.

TW, Gano, Dmac, Cooley, Hall.

The winner would have to be Rak, dude brought it!

Coaching, players have talked all off season about what a great job Galloway has done...but I havent seen anything on the field, preseason either...dude is no where to be found.

Cooley and Moss seemed to be the main focus, but McNabb said after the game next week it could be Galloway or Fred Davis. It's just the way things went last night.

Re: Game Balls

My only concern with Landry's 18 tackles is that about half of them were on running plays. I understand that he's playing up in the box more this year but I don't like when safeties are making tackles on running plays. Usually means there were a few broken tackles or the DL/LB simply couldn't get to the running back.

Re: Game Balls

Trent Williams get's my game ball. I don't think anyone could have expected a better outing in his first match against one of the more prolific pass rushers/defenders in the game; Demarcus Ware is on my team everyday of the week.

Lot of Honorable Mentions though. I think we might have one of the better corner duos in the league too. In fact, I'll go on record again saying we have one of the best secondaries in football. Not the best, but...mmmm...I'd say by season's end, we'll be top 10.

I expect the offense to click a little more next week. Hopefully Devin Thomas can get some touches too.

I don't know where to put this comment, so this is completely

One of the best things about winning - going on a cowboys site (mind you I'm not posting because I'd hate if sandtrapjack or valleyranchgirl showed up gloating) and reading their own fans reactions. It makes me smile

by the way, anyone know when we can expect STJ or valleyranchgirl?

The Crowd : Really gave the Cowboys everything they wanted. I mean they were loud ! If any of you all were there last night,...Thank you for sacrificing your voices !

Trent Williams : Good solid game against Ware. There are guys that see him all the time and haven't been able to stand their ground against him, that kid is a beast.

LaRon Landry : A lot of good tackles, didn't miss the sure things like he used to going for the big hit.

Brian Orakpo looked good as well as D. Hall.

17.

He was very effective on blitzes and Haslett seemed to have the rotations to cover WRs down. He sent CB blitzes too and had safeties rotate over.

I'm not worried about Landry playing close to the line...he's VERY good on blitzes and now he's built like a LB.

We made the mistake in the past of misusing him and not playing to his strengths. Looks like those days are over and he'll finally become the beast we all thought he would be in the Area 51 days.

Re: Game Balls

Lets also not ignore the trainers/medical staff.

Landry, Orakpo, Portis, Hall all went down and got right back into the game. 'Rak and CP with cramps, LaRon needed an IV at halftime because of cramping.

Re: Game Balls

Landry completely wiffed on a sure bet sack....other than that he played OK. The only play worth mentioning is his take down on the out route to stop a first down. Most of his tackels were several yards down the line of scrimmage, not exactly what you want from your strong safety (maybe it's a scheme thing but he sure wasn't no Troy Polamalu).

It is one of my guilty pleasures. I don't post either but I enjoy all the whining.
