The early period may have been rough, but it had its bright spots.

The first corrective eyeglasses(for farsightedness) were invented during the [long] period and the transition to a more efficient method of agriculture(3 field agriculture instead of 2 field agriculture) occured.

Men wearing metal helmets, carrying spears, all while walking around in a skirt is not my bag. I'll take the 70's, John Travolta, and KC and the Sunshine Band any day of the week.
