I disagree that you don't have to be a good coach. Obviously getting the best high schoolers to come play for you is important, but these college coaches have to corral a group of 18-21 year old alpha males into a coherent, disciplined product on a consistent basis. That's no easy task, I don't care how much talent you can recruit.

You're gonna tell me that Saban, Petrino, Meyer, Spurrier, etc aren't good coaches? Just because they can't/haven't done it in the NFL? Hogwash.
what he said. and some guys are just better suited for college as some are better suited for nfl, it's two different types of football half of the greatest players and coaches in ncaa never really accomplished much in the nfl, but in my eyes that takes nothing away from what they accomplished in ncaa
