Hitting isn't so much his thing. He's seen as a ballhawk for the most part. There's a reason Williams gave him the nickname "swoop" and it wasn't because of his hitting. He can lay a lick on someone without a doubt, however once he gets a bit more comfortable and reads offenses a bit better the league will be asking who Ed Reed was.

Putting him in as a LB negates this from him. Safety is perfect for him. He can be an enforcer but also make QBs think twice about throwing into coverage with him.
