Give me a break, these guys aren't recruited so they can get an education. They are there to win games so the alumni can feel good and generate money for the school by selling the school brand name. They are nothing more than glorified indentured servants.
They should be paid! At least $500 a month.

They are indeed free to choose which school they want to be indentured servants at. Yes, not all are from poor families, most of them are though. For every Kobe Bryant there are 5 players worse off than LaBron James.
