Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Yeah he's special. I could see him as the best WR in the league in 3 years or so.

Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Aaron Rodgers is really, really good. His mobility is very underrated.
This is a Packers team that has been decimated by injury yet they're going to head into a bye week at 6-3. They're outgaining the Cowboys by 300 yards right now! LOL! The Cowboys don't even have 100 yards of offense and it's almost the 4th qtr. They have 87 yards of offense and 70 of it are Dez Bryant receiving yards.

Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Rodgers is really impressing me. He made a bunch of game killing mistakes last season when his offensive unit was really, really good independent of him. This year, he's had to really refine his game with the Jermichael Finley, Ryan Grant, and Donald Driver injuries and he looks great. Stats won't back me up on this (because of the strength of last years team) but I think Rodgers is one of the most improved players in the NFL this year.
Anyone seen perennial defensive POY DeMarcus Ware this season? No one mails it in quite like the Cowboys. By that I mean, their stats through 7 weeks compare pretty well with the 2009 Redskins through 7 weeks. But is there any doubt that after 16 games the Cowboys will look like a disaster even compared to the 2009 team coached by Zorn?

Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Here's another reason to be happy tonight: Perry Fewell won't be coaching the Giants defense next year. He'll be a head coach in the NFL.
Hopefully here.

Re: Bye Week Games Thread
You can't throw that nugget out there and not elaborate. I agree that Fewell is a likely HC candidate. But you want him here.. next year??

Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Damn. Clay Matthews has to be the front runner for DMVP after that pick six. On a side note, 45-7 Packers!
I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a Cowboys team this bad. I'm going to revel in it this season, because I might not see that again for a while after this year.

I agree. If you are going to say something that "out there", you need to elaborate. You really think Shanny needs to go GTripp?

Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Yeah, I can agree with that. Hopefully we'll see a second coming of our 2nd game from last season again, and what I mean by that is maybe we'll see a role reversal with the Cowboys pulling the disappearing act and we'll win an easy game 17-0.

I also need to hedge in that: I don't think if I was the owner, I could pull the plug on Shanahan after just one year. I just don't think it would make a lot of sense. And one could argue that if you take away Perry Fewell's ability to coordinate a defense (especially if they stayed in a 3-4 like I would advocate for), he becomes a merely average hire instead of an exciting one. But all this guy is done is coach Dick Jauron's defense to the top of the league last year, then take over for him on an interim basis and keep them there. Then he loses his job there in a clean sweep, and the Bills are 0-8 with the league's worst defense under George Edwards. All the Giants have done with Perry Fewell is taken last year's disaster and put out the most consistently fierce defense in the league this year where everyone is playing well. He's doing a better coaching job than anyone in the NFL right now, save maybe Hue Jackson, OC of the Raiders (who isn't as great a HC candidate, if b/c of age). So yeah, I want my team to be coached by Perry Fewell. And I don't want my team to be coached by Mike Shanahan. But I don't think at this point, the Redskins could get Fewell no matter what they did with Shanahan, so I do think they are married to what they've got. I think that Shanahan can improve conditions here with time, but eventually, this work environment will be too toxic for him to succeed. It's concerning, to say the least, that he's just 4-4 at this point. We're in decent position, and need to capitalize in the NFC playoff race this year. /elaboration
