Re: Wade Phillips Fired; Jason Garrett Named Interim Head Coach
By permitting Vinny to humiliate him with the play calling duties change, a change many reasonably saw as a deliberate attempt to force Zorn to quit? Or were you joking?

I wasn't joking, he stayed hands off when he could have fired Zorn and Vinny if he wanted to. It was Vinny's circus and he let him run his shitshow right into the ground.

There is a big difference there! Skins handled it correctly. And gave JZ a chance to plan his next move. JJ handled this with no regard for Wade. Very Low Class Move. If I were a Cowboys fan, I would not feel any better today.

Sorry. I'm just not buying that there was anything exemplary about how the Zorn situation was handled last year--by Cerrato or Snyder--or that Jerry Jones has done something that reflects any sort of insenstive shooting from the hip. After last night's game, the sum total of talking head commentary I heard was that Jones had reached a point where he had no choice.

As I understand it, Vinnie brought those guys in. Basically DS said, Vinnie, I have trusted you, do what you think is right. And when it failed, he fired him and brought BA in and let him go from there. If I am wrong about that, then I would appreciate being corrected.

As far as Zorns situation, I think it was handled as well as it could have been. Everyone knew he would be gone the following season but at least DS showed the restraint of not unleashing his ultimate authority at a time where he had not yet secured other options. JJ just starts firing people but has no other real plans other than flexing his muscle because thats all he can do to "satisfy" his fan base. Again I'm glad that this is going on in Dallas and in no way feel sorry for them but I do have to give credit to DS over JJ for the way he handled a similar situation. Just my opinion. I respect yours as well. Lets enjoy the Cowgirls Circus. |
