The ugly: we're last -- dead last -- in the league in team defense (415 yards per game; 25.4 points per game). I'd say that the 3-4 is officially a failed experiment. I am not sure what we can do about it mid-season (probably nothing), but it surely doesn't portend well going forward.

I really do not like Hasslett. I was never a big fan of him before he came here. So I was dissappointed when he was named D.C.
I was more than willing to give him a chance.
But after last nights game I realize we really have the wrong guy running our defense. I don't think it is a scheme or alignment issue. I think it is a leadership and ability issue our defensive coordinator Hasslett is not doing a good job.
The main reason I have given up on Hasslett is we are not seeing any results in his changes or improvement. If anything, we see inconsistency. There is no planning and improvement in the play. What we see is reacting to crisis. Not the way you run a defense.

Shanahan deserves some blame for forcing a 3-4 scheme down our throats as well.

Shanahan seems to be going blameless for the last couple of losses.

Ok maybe I'm exaggerating.

Do what Buffalo did. Scrap it. Haslett surely should have his New Orleans playbook stashed around somewhere.
