A lot of it can be put on the basic scheme. It is going to be hard expecting to win in the dog eat dog NFC East with a 3-4 defense, as the running game is a pivotal part of NFC East ball. Look at poor Michigan in the Big Ten. Rod put them in a 3-3-5 scheme in a run heavy conference and blammo, his D sucks.
