It pains me to talk about Sean. His spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him most. The Warpath will always celebrate the memory of his passing and I'm happy to be a part of it. Continue your RIP Sean Taylor, we love you and we miss you.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody.... |

Sean still gets to me sometime. Every once in a while, you have that superior athlete that if can stay healthy, you can see will be a hall of famer. In the time i got to see him play, he played his ass off on every opportunity. He set the tone. He was a playmaker.
It is sad to think of what his career would have been. Sad to have a life cut short so soon. |

I do not think there is anything wrong with acknowledging this once a year. It's a Redskins website, of course you're going to run into this. Sean Taylor was a player that I think alot of people thought could have been one of the greatest Redskins ever and some people viewed him as more than a player. I wish his family all the best.

Re: Sean Taylor Memorial week 11/27
Look guys, I don't want to get on anyones shit list over here because honestly I love this forum, it's much better than ES, a lot more talented people, forum that actually works 100% and it's not crowded at all.
I guess the reason I get a little annoyed if you will with Sean Taylor is because nobody ever seems to let him go. Around his death I don't mind, but constantly on YouTube or other forums at this time, you just get the people acting like we must create a name of a street for him in D.C, put up a memorial at FedexField, something just stupid. Let alone I seem to read a lot of things at other places that are just totally irrelevant to things. For instance, I'll see a Santana Moss touchdown bomb video, and someone will comment awesome play.....man if Sean Taylor were on our team still we'd be awesome, RIP 21. In a way it's like they are using his death to promote them self or make them look better and that just annoys me. I don't have a problem remembering the guy, I know a lot of people have trouble forgetting things, but I think some people just take it way to far with him and that's why I get annoyed. You all don't do any of those things here so I guess I was just venting from previous occurrences of it at other places.

Re: Sean Taylor Memorial week 11/27
I think IB you indeed do have a problem with the entire thing. Why....I cannot answer. There are many things you may not agree with OR understand for that matter. Welcome to planet earth, as we all suffer the same thing from time to time.
Do you have a problem with the ST thing? How many times you bump this thread in a negative way? Because you have an opinion (or anyone else for that matter) does not make that opinion correct or even relevant. By virtue, you have the right to that opinion, BUT everybody else has the right to kick your ass for voicing it. It is sometimes better to let discretion be the better part of valor......HTTR

I couldn't have been further from the truth. What dumbass bashes the memory of a beloved skin?- (one who is the ring of honor at that). Culture, pride, and tradition is the Redskin way but I guess a tree is known by its fruit and fools will be fools.

I just bash those who have some sort of fetish with him. Perhaps they should join a special kool-aid cult, then they could chill with him all day.

Re: Sean Taylor Memorial week 11/27
From being Gibbs' first pick his second time around to his backbreaking hit on Crayton to preserve the Monday Night Miracle win to his swoop and TD vs Philly to put us in the playoffs to his swoop vs Dallas to give us yet another miracle win and beyond, ST gave Redskins fans many special moments. And you have to understand for many on this site who didn't experience the SB years those have been some of their best Skins memories ever. And the fact he didn't play more than just a couple of years is irrelevant. He played more games than Doug Williams ever did yet as Skins fans we don't forget what he did for us for one quarter. And beyond all that, Taylor joined the Skins as a big child but died a man. To see his transformation and then for his life to be tragically taken away so suddenly was devastating, whether you knew him or not, for all sports fans (except for the assholes on the Eagles message boards)
This is a Redskins site, taking a few days out of the year to remember Taylor is not a fetish. And it doesn't mean people aren't over him, it's just showing respect once a year. If you can't appreciate that, you're probably on the wrong message board
