As far as my car, I pay a few bucks a month extra for the Bose premium audio package, and it thumps. Real nice, clean solid lows, mids, and highs. I test drove the Altima without the Bose, and believe me, the upgrade is well worth the $8/month increase in payment.

Hmmm, how much is the Bose upgrade total? I got my whip hooked up for the first time ever through a car audio joint earlier this year. Even if that upgrade is no more than $500, you can get a decent amp and a couple pairs of two-ways that would cost around that with installation. I'd guarantee it'd sound much better than Bose. After you pay your car off and you're interested in that kind of stuff, start looking into brands like Rockford Fosgate, Boston, Infinity and JL.

I'm very familiar with the other brands you mentioned. In my early 20's, I was really into car audio systems. I decked out my old 1999 Acura CL (It was 2001 at the time, so it was a sweet ride) with a Rockford Fostgate system. It really kicked. Bose must have some deal with Nissan, because it's the only option for a "premium audio package."
