Re: Kiper has Matt Jones going to the Eagles
I'm definitely not thinking him first round, however if we end up with a second round pick by trading down (if possible), I would like to see us take the gamble after we've address our needs at either WR or CB.

Re: Kiper has Matt Jones going to the Eagles
We're not in a position to draft projects, we need people who can contribute right now. Matt Jones is a beast, I remember the UT-Arkansas OT game in which he looked unstoppable.
But all of his success came under center. I think he'll be good at wideout, but probably not at first. The reason he was so successful at qb is that he was faster than he looked, you don't expect a guy 6'6 to run a 4.3. That said, I don't think you can plug him in at wideout and just expect him to be a playmaker because he's fast. Just looking at how first year wideouts struggle, on average, it'd be a big leap to think that a former qb could come in the NFL and have an impact in his first year. Look at Eric Crouch, or any of the other Nebraska qbs. |
