He could retire... depends on what his expectations are. He's simply not going to find a starting job in this league carrying the ball 20 times a game. If he's ok with being a role player at a decent $$, I'm sure he can find work.

Two of the three insiders I know of have all said Portis is NOT coming back at any price. One went on to even comment that Portis and Shanny really didn't like each other to begin with and that Portis love has always been with Gibbs and Snyder. His stay in DC is over.

Yeah that's what he's saying right now, and he should sell himself as high as he can I've got no problem with that. It's highly doubtful that anyone is going to sign him on to be their #1. Unless he's delusional I think he knows that deep down.
