Re: 2011 NFL Draft

Then-looking at strictly at the other QBs believed to be taken in the first 2 rounds (excluding Gabbert and Newton)-it's Ponder...and then basically no one else. I put Kaepernick and Mallet there, but that was just to fill out the list. So let's say they are unable to get Dalton, Locker, and Ponder. Then they're not going to take Kaep or Mallet. They'll just wait until later and probably take one of the 2nd (3rd?) tier QBs Between Locker and Dalton I don't think one is clearly ahead of the other, and maybe they just split the difference and go with Ponder. Overall, my sources still say Quinn is the top choice at #10. I've gone back and forth on it, but I think I'd like them to pull the trigger on Locker at 10. From what I've seen of him, he could be a total superstar (or a total flop). A safer pick is probably Ponder. But, and I think I've mentioned it before, I see Ponder as the safe pick. But I think if you're taking a QB early you're going for the superstar. In my opinion it's basically go big or go home. Locker could totally blow up in their face. But I say go for it. Of course if they could move down to get him that'd be great, but the could put a little wrench in that...and that's why no free agency and no trades sucks
