Sorry, I believe there is an error in your evaluation.
All the draft experts had Kerrigan grading out to go further down in the first round...ergo we ...foolishly took him to early. Stupid Bruce Allen
......doomed

Re: Your thoughts of the possibility of Kerrigan "surpassing" Orakpo

I think this is something that will help form a very strong defense for the next 10 years. You have these guys locked up, (hopefully) at very early times in their careers. We have a couple of young LB's in Riley and.....(crap forgot the other guys name)..anyway, this allows us to get better around them and not have to expirement on the two most important positions on this 3-4 scheme.

I love those two together because you can't double team both of them, one is always one on one and either we get the sack, good pressure, a hit or a holding call. and with the speed and power these guys play with and the constant rushing every play i think it wears down those offensive tackles and the running game starts to struggle and by the 4th quarter they can really take over.

Dumb question for this season because orakpo taking up other blockers makes kerrigan better.

The real question is how good will the front 7 be if Jenkins (not cullen) comes back strong from his injury. As excited as I am about the start of this year, what is even better is the fact that this team is being built to go for a while.

If Kerrigan surpasses Orakpo then that means that we have a future Hall of Famer on our hands, because Orakpo is pretty much a beast!

I agree and think Jenkins will make this defense MUCH better in 2012 along with some other potential "fillers". Now just to get a few more play makers on offense and this team will contend. I am liking the direction Allen/Shanny are taking this team.

I don't think he is, and I agree that it does not really matter! As long as thety both keep playing at this level we are going to be tough on opposing Qbs all year long!

Re: Your thoughts of the possibility of Kerrigan "surpassing" Orakpo

They're both incredible players, but keep this in mind...without Orakpo being on this team, would Kerrigan be having this success. Orakpo become a legitimate player that must be double-teamed or held every play. That's one less body to block Kerrigan or anyone else. I'm not knocking Kerrigan, he's obviously a beast on his own, but both of them may end up contributing to the other's success from now on. Teams can not double-team BOTH of them. At this point, our opponents have been focusing on and fearing Orakpo. Now, they're going to have a huge dilemma as long as they're both on the field.

Kerrigan could end up being the best draft pick made by ANY team this year.

Absolutely! This is without a doubt the best LBing corps we've had in years. I've got more hope in this teams future than I've had in a decade or more. The call on Jackson was BS IMO and he excells at rushing the QB. Orakpo and Kerrigan are pure BEASTS and the Cowgurls and the rest of the NFC East will have to deal with them for years. ****in' bring it on bitches!

Indeed I was wondering about this a week ago.. It is amazing how big jump we have jumped from last year to this year, from one of worst defense in NFL to top 10. And yet Jenkins alone will make this defense better, I am looking forward to that next season.

I'm glad that Kerrigan is playing great, however the debate of possibility for Kerrigan to be better player than Orakpo is moot IMO, given that both are on same team. Also as some pointed out the fact that Orakpo is double-teamed sometimes, which gives Kerrigan opportunities to make plays. And he did. I must admit, I was one of many fans who were skeptical of the Kerrigan pick. I was not so sure that he would be able to make impact in games for us, but he proved me wrong in first game and again and again. Big props to the Redskins FO!
