Chicago Bears release Chris Harris - ESPN Chicago

Not a bad player depth wise could be an improvement. Are ability to field healthy safeties is well documented (Laron, OJ, Moore), maybe wouldnt be a bad move to bring in a vet

Yeah I was just about to post this link. I definitely think he's worth a look. Our secondary is a hot mess.

Yeah, what ive seen of him, he's not a bad player. I believes he's played both safeties positions in the career and could be a PB type fill-in. Experienced, has been a play maker in the past, a guy who could come in on packages and provide 15-20 quality snaps a game. I think def could beat out both Reed and Moore depth-wise. I think he wont be on the market long.

My first concern was why would they let a decent Safety go? But if its to make room for another position of need and he still has gas in his tank then the team should kick his tires.

Chris Harris is having a dreadful year, but I don't think he's done as a player, and I think he's a signing that could pay off in the long run.
