I guess that means he's already well ahead of Thomas and Kelly.

This is how I feel about John Beck.

Yup. Also, I think as we look at the past 24 games, one could make a really solid argument that we should have kept Jason Campbell over the 3 qbs we've had starting since him. Not saying he was the franchise savior, but I think he certainly would have been a better 2 season band-aid than McNabb, Beck, or Grossman.

It's funny how a lot of fans wanted Campbell gone and now realize he wasn't so bad. My point is, the same can be said about Kyle Shanahan, a lot of fans want him gone but in actuality you won't find someone better, people need to be patient. When the young players develop (has already started) and a QB is drafted, linemen drafted, we will see what we've been wanting to see on offense. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I agree with you 100%. McNabb's QB rating last season was 77.5. This year Grossman's QB rating is 66.5 and Beck's QB rating is 72.1. Where is the upgrade? Donovan McNabb would have probably had a much better grasp of the offense going into year 2. We all know he would be more effective than either Beck or Grossman at this point of the season. Another Mike Shanahan foul up. |

Had no problem with trading for McNabb, but they should have also selected a QB in the draft. Even if McNabb was successful they had to know it would be brief considering his ago.

Beck is so inept that it's difficult to see how good anyone else on offense is. I know it's been said, but Rex will win games and also single handedly lose some with picks and fumbles. At least with him there is a shot and we can see some of the potential in the wr's. I know that a lot of people on here put no stock in what teammates said prior to the Rex benching (especially Moss) but I think the receivers know more than us. I honestly don't see Beck ever winning an NFL game.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins vs. 49ers) (Thread is Open)
I agree . he reads the field like a senile glaucoma patient. I honestly believe he will not win a game as a redskin, and may never get the chance to after that... Rex makes throws/attempts john Beck is not able to process fast enough. Beck dis not throw a ball past 15 yds that I can remember watching in the seats... furious. Rex wins that game against SF IMO. 5+ times open recievers downfield for possible tds bug gains and he didn't look there way and had time. missed alot of open guys un general and cracked under pressure. Rex makes the throws and SCORES the points we.needed to win that game. its a joke that our staff actually thought Beck could start in this league. sorry. not saying Rex is awesome but he's 10 times better than Beck hands effing down. disgusting feeling u get watching our high school offense being qb'd by a division 2 talent level looking lost puppy. [/PISSED] ... I want the Guy who gives this team the best chance to win and that is by FAR Rex Grossman ..

and I don't wanna hear about picks and fumbles... Beck threw plenty of passes that should have.been picks on throws I.honestly do NOT think Rex would.have.made. .. oh and he fumbles ...

Whether we play beck or grossman, it doesn't really matter. Bottom line is we don't have a starting caliber quarterback. Period.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins vs. 49ers) (Thread is Open)
if having much better of a chance to win "doesn't matter" .. ur glass is half empty.. the real bottom line is we are NOT 3-5 if we had stuck with Rex and let that confidence increase his and inspire better play from the entire offense .. but no.. we didn't because shanny knows best [/blah]… .. Rex beats Carolina and SF.. but nobody could have won a game wen ur line gives up 9 sacks and a game full of constant pressure, just not likely .. still I say 5-3 with Rex, not this point deprived offense Beck throws, or should I say doesn't throw around and were 3-5 ..
that is all
