That's the reason I could never play FF. I just cannot pick another player over my team and your going as far to pick a player going against your team. Just don't get that. The only way I can figure that is if you feel that you win either way. Hey the skins lost but WOW Bez really racked up some points for me.

I am always willing to sacrifice a fantasy win for a Redskins win any time.

Me too. It really not that bad of a conflict of interest. I usually chose not to have Redskins on my team, cause ill get too pissed at the team.

Now i have a friend who will gamble and actually gamble agaisnt his team which I think is blasphemy. His rationale "If they win or lose, ill feel good either way" I think that is bullshit...i never feel good when the skins lose, meaning i feel bad alot

I think there is a fundamental difference between rooting as a fan and gambling.

Rooting is done with your heart and your emotions.

Betting is done with your brain and your wallet.

I have exactly ZERO difficulty in separating those two activities...

I completely Agree I do it all the time.

In fact when I bet against Dallas because I feel the line favors me it becomes some what a win, Win for me... If Dallas loses well at least I made so money and if Dallas win I don't care if I lost the bet because my team won!!!

Agreed.

And once you learn to separate the two, it's no big deal.

Me too. I don't play fantasy because I don't want such conflicts of interest.

I've been playing fantasy long enough that I can easily separate the two. Am I going to be openly rooting for Dez on Sunday? Hell no. But the fact of the matter is, he's probably going to get his during the game. Whenever a guy I have in fantasy goes off vs the Skins, I'm not overly happy about it. I just shrug my shoulders and say, "good start."

I typically havent owned too many Skins players in fantasy, because for the nearly 10 years I've been playing, there haven't been too many guys on our team worth it. There are those rare occasions when I have an opposing player going against the Skins in fantasy, dude goes off, but the Skins still win the game. It's rare, but is awesome when it does happen.
