Re: 2012 QB Class
All I needed to know about Landry Jones was that his coach replaced him in goal line packages all last night. When Stoops called the TO with 40 seconds left, I had a feeling that RG3 would come through. Dude's a BALLER!!!

Re: 2012 QB Class
I saw that Oklahoma-Baylor game last night. Griffin III outshined Landry Jones. While I wouldn't mind the Redskins having either one of these elite college QBs, I suppose both of them fits in a Shahanan system. Barkley played well against the upset over Oregon last night as well.

Re: 2012 QB Class
The only two QBs that I feel are sure things are Luck and Barkley.

RG3 is the man, he better come out. Luck will go # 1, let the "experts" rave about Barkley and have him picked next. He'll be better than Sanchez but I don't think he'll be as good as Bradford. Hopefully that leaves RG3 for us.

Re: 2012 QB Class
RGIII is awesome. Very good deep ball and he has great downfield accuracy. Every time I have seen him play he just seems to know exactly what to do with the ball every play. And on top of his passing skills he can make plays w/ his feet when its needed. If the Skins got RGIII the 2012 draft would be considered a success to me regardless of whoever else Shanny spent the picks on.
I like Barkley a lot too, I like the offense that he is in, he just seems like an NFL quarterback already. Landry Jones I'm not as high on. If we traded back and got him that would be cool but I wouldn't want him in the top 10. HTTR!!! Last edited by sdskinsfan2001; 11-21-2011 at 01:17 AM. |

Re: 2012 QB Class
He's been phenomenal all year. We will have a chance to draft him. When that time comes I hope we make the right decision.

I think Jones is a very safe pick and a quarterback who still has some upside to be developed. Not as solid as Bradford. RG3 looks to be maybe the best Shanny fit of the elite QB prospects. I still think Luck is the best QB prospect, but RG3 might actually be the best fit here with what Shanny wants to do.

And it's also a reason that he may actually stay one more year. One of my work studies at the office is good friends with Matt's sister and tells me money isn't the most important factor when it comes to his decision. With our bowl sanctions ending this year and the offensive players having another season in the offense, I've heard there's a real possibility that Matt wants to make a statement for the school. Either way, I'm a happy guy (if the Skins draft him, of course). |

Re: 2012 QB Class
We're under probation this year and the team's sitting at 10 (AP) in the country. Next year, we can actually play in a bowl game. There's no reason why this same team can't compete for a national championship if Barkley comes back... he had a chance to transfer (without penalty) when the school first got hit with sanctions. He's stayed through the entire drama, knowing SC couldn't play in a bowl for two years. He's got a few reasons to come back if he wanted.

Re: 2012 QB Class
RG3 all the way. Makes plays in the clutch, look at the last two weeks against Kansas and Oklahoma. Generally makes good decisions under pressure. He can throw on the run and always keeps his eyes down field. Can make plays with his feet alone. His mobility would help the oline situation much like Vick does in Philly and is a much better pocket passer than Vick was coming out of college. Accurate passer with good mechanics though the ball does seem to wobble a bit too frequently, but that is okay when it is consistently on the numbers/over the shoulder. My biggest concerns for him are he doesn't seem to always read the defense over the middle well. also he doesn't work from under the center but since all his other mechanics are good I'[m sure he can figure that one out. Look at his game against Oklahoma here
Robert Griffin III vs Oklahoma 2011 - YouTube I am not sold on Barkley one bit. His play against Oregon was spotty. A few great throws yes but two dropped snaps and one where he tried to throw after picking it up and pretty much hit an Oregon player in the numbers, luckily it was dropped. Looked alot like a bad Romo and Grossman game. He can see all his throws here Matt Barkley vs Oregon 2011 - YouTube judge for yourself. |
