Per @JasonLaCanfora the #Redskins are expected to put the franchise tag on Fred Davis.

It would mean Landry is going to become a FA.

TE franchise tags are going to run $5.4 mil this year. I just see them working out a long-term deal with Fred. Especially since Allen got him relieved of a 1-yr suspension vs what he got (4 games).

I wouldn't be surprised if they let Davis go into the season with the 1yr franchise deal and just let it play out. If he doesn't have another substance abuse slip-up and is playing at a high level (no pun intended), then start working on an a new deal mid-season.

Makes sense. The franchise tag for TE is very reasonable. Make him earn a long term deal.
