Re: The Official 2012 NFL Combine Thread
02/23/12 - NFL DRAFT SCOUT PRE-COMBINE TOP 64: 61. *Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech, 6-4, 206, 2...Hill should be worth watching at the Combine, where if he surely will wow scouts who are seeking more data on this undergrad who averaged a lot of yards per catch. As a senior at Miller Grove High School, Hill was not only an MVP football player but set the Georgia State prep record with a long jump of 25-feet, 8 and 3/4 inches, which would have placed ninth at the last Olympics. Hill finished his three-year college career with 49 catches for 1,248 yards (16th in school history). That average of 25.47 yards per reception would have broken the school record, but he fell one reception short of qualifying (minimum 50 receptions). His nine career touchdown receptions rank 14th in Tech history. Last year he took his 28 catches for 820 yards, a 29.3-yard average that led the nation. - Frank Cooney - The Sports Xchange, NFL Draft Scout
02/23/12 - 2012 NFL COMBINE, UNDER RADAR UNDERCLASSMEN: WR Stephen Hill, Georgia Tech: Hill reminds me a lot of former Georgia Tech standout Demaryius Thomas for his size, straight-line speed and big play ability. NFLDraftScout.com is currently estimating Hill as being able to run the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds. I think he'll shave a tenth off that time, as well as impress in leaping drills. He's undeniably raw but don't be surprised if a strong showing in Indianapolis pushes Hill into the second round. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com 02/23/12 - Stephen Hill is ready to run fast. The former Georgia Tech wide receiver will fly up to Indianapolis today for the NFL draft combine. “I’m feeling great,” he said. “I’m ready to go.” Nervous? “Not nervous at all,” he said, and he sounded it. “This is something I’ve been dreaming about and something I’ve been ready for.” Since declaring for the draft Jan. 5, Hill has spent most of his time at the IMG training facility in Bradenton, Fla. He worked out with other draft hopefuls such as quarterback Russell Wilson from Wisconsin, quarterback Kirk Cousins and Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu. The training is principally for the combine, Tech’s pro day (March 6) and individual workouts with teams. He also spent a week in Atlanta getting tutored by former Falcons wide receiver Terance Mathis. Among those training him in Florida was renowned speed coach Loren Seagrave. Hill said he plans to do all of the tests at the combine. “My 40 time has improved a little bit,” Hill said. “It’s going to be interesting.” How interesting? “I want to run a 4.4,” he said. “But I feel like I can run a 4.3.” - Ken Sugiura, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution *Stephen Hill | Georgia Tech, WR : 2012 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile |
