I said that the new management is starting to build through the draft multiple times which is why I said it looks like we have a bright future. I think using free agency can help you but its my opinion that you build through the draft and use free agency to fill a couple of pieces here and there if that makes sense. Like Winston, i think he would be a good tackle for us. I just don't like Vincent because of what he appears to be to me. Thats why I answered that guys question about him.
Of course, building through the draft is a luxury the Skins have very little of right now. So it's essential that they use free agency. The picks that they lost (basically two first rounders and a second) would typically equal at least one stud, possibly two. So it's on us the front office to aggresively pursue some studs in free agency. That is going to cost the team, and it will be a risk, but it's really the only option at this point. It won't be enough to just surround Griffin with 21 role players.

Forgot last year's draft already?

5 picks left by Vinny --> 12 SOLID picks by Shanallenhan.

I expect a repeat performance.

I didn't forget last year's draft, nor did I fogret last week's trade. I guess the point I was making was that we'll be able to make some solid moves in the draft, but we're limited as to our ability to draft a pro-bowl caliber player (aside from Griffin, of course!).

How so? At least for 2012....we are using our first to draft our Franchise QB, and it will cost us only an additional 2.

We don't need a lot of first round picks. If we sign Winston we took care of the two tackles, what we need are corners, guards and depth for the online, receiver and safeties and their aren't many of those in free agency, however their are a lot of good guards coming out this year in the draft like the kid Silatolu from Midwestern State who just mauls people and seems like that kind of olinemen that went to a small school but has heart and a mean streak. There are a lot of good corners or players that played corner like Johnson from Montana and could possibly move to safety. Ryan Broyles is a great slot receiver and their is that kid who went to a small school his name i completely forget (I just found out it was Brian Quick), Cooley hopefully will start to work hard again cause he has a qb which will give us Cooley and Davis(this is hopeful) we don't need a first round pick in order to add depth and make our team better. If you want to be the Eagles and probably never win a superbowl with their current roster then build through free agency. But we can draft players and sign a few key guys and we will be ok. I believe in Griffin

I'm not sure we're really disagreeing on anything here. Basically we need to utilize the draft and make a few key plays in free agency; because we made the Griffin trade, that balance is going to be skewed a bit. I'm not advocating anything like what the Eagles did last year, or the things that we've done in the past, but in the event that the team has developed a well-deserved phobia of expensive free-agents, this might be a year to reconsider.
