Under Roger 'The Hammer' Goodell, the punishment is just about what could be expected. Gregg Williams (2nd G is for GONE) may be done as an NFL coach for the time being. He's going to probably miss at least a season and a half. Don't know how he could get the same as Payton since he was running the bounty program.

Also, Goodell couldn't come back with a soft punishment after he's been drilling the players for the past 2 years. This was a severe, but just punishment.

Yeah I don't know either. Seems about right, and fits with the rumors of the key players getting the boot for a year or more.

I'm kinda surprised that some are taken back by the decision. Sean Payton was reportedly only ready for a 4 game suspension? What was he thinking?
