yeah, signing bonuses are prorated over the life of the contract (well right now only out to five years, last year it was out to six, that's do to a new pending union agreement with the ownershsip).

anyways, yes, we'd still owe the cap 1/x (x = length of contact) of whatever signing bonus even if the player is no longer with us (thats called deadcap)... the players, of course, get the signing bonus up front and in full.

I think we could possibly save 5-8million next year by releasing guys this year and using whatever extra cap space we have to give players advances at the end of the year.

we also need to add a bonus to taylor's contract thats contingent on him staying local and participating in offseason work.
