Lemar Marshall started playing in Lavar's spot, in'04, and we didn't miss a beat.
We had a top 5 defense in '05 without Lavar, too. His knee injury was a legitimate issue, but Lavar trashed the coaches first for holding him out, then trashed them for putting him back in too early.

Add his wanting to freelance in William's gap defense, how could you work with that guy? The Giants spent big money on him, and got practically nothing from him. Except a copy of our playbook.
