Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Some All-Americans (according to different sites) that I think the redskins should target...
MLB Mike Mauti - O'brien loves him team leader and forcers turnovers, FS Phillip Thomas 8 picks, three touchdowns, very similar to Byrd, plays like a center fielder and makes plays, had 9 tackles against oregon and forced a fumble. Always around the ball RB Montee Ball - not a need but he will fall because RB's with that many touches always fall would be a good pick up. KR - Reggie Dunn 4 KO's returned for touchdown in 10 returns this year. Has NCAA records for career returns and season returns. SS - Matt Elam just a baller possible to get both Elam and Thomas? Hopefully both run bad 40's CB - Jordan Poyer - played very well against good receivers, not great but good size at 6 190 lbs, good in coverage. WR- Tavon Austin - good chance he won't be available but still a beast. Last edited by donofriose; 12-10-2012 at 07:34 PM. |

Protect the team's biggest asset by drafting an OT.

you protect RGIII by making a good enough defense that he doesn't feel the need to be superman every down.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
We need a RT in a bad way. Get that and this offense is complete. We would be able to let Griffin dropback and scan the field. After that build a defense. But let's remember Chase Minnifield, Brandon Merriweather, and maybe Tanard Jax might be back. I also like how Jordan Pugh is playing right now. Also Crawford.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
i do too, you can get both this draft. Saftey is deep. Eric Reid 2nd round or Baccarri Rambo 3rd round both at free safety are possibilities. Cornerback is deep too

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Safety is the biggest need IMO, of course with safties being undervalued by the league we might be able to get a solid vet for cheaper than we could another need position say CB, if Fred Davis doesn't recover from ACL a quality TE?

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Well Fred Davis and Logan Pauleson are both free agents. Id like to sign them both to extention. I think Fred can recover.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Can never tell. For one he was a 2nd or 3rd round prospect anyway. Then you add in the fact that he hasn't played a whole season and we dont know what shape he's in. Add in that his off the field problems. Well yeah he could fall that far.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
You can't change his bravado. Give RGIII the luxury to stand in the pocket forever like the other top QBs in the league. He'll have a healthier career if the pocket doesn't collapse as much and so soon, forcing him to scramble to make plays too often.

Eknox, no problem. This thread has been dying of late (for good reason) because we've been winning. Also here is SI's All American team Johnny Manziel, Manti Te'o lead SI.com 2012 All-America Team - College Football - SI.com some great names/prospects coming out this year.. Also heres Paulines latest draft report Week 14 - Tony Pauline - SI.com Also latest to declare for draft (not named Marcus Lattimore) -Johnathan Hankins DT Ohio St -David Amerson CB NC State -Keenan Allen WR Cal Also full 7 Round mock 2013 NFL Mock Draft: Matt Miller's 7-Round Projections Heading into Bowl Season | Bleacher Report (I started the link from round 2, cause we don't pick first) As for Tyrann Mathieu, all I'll say is this; Vontaze Burfict. Both guys highly regarded as first round picks then on/off field situations and out of shape at the combine, then Vontaze went undrafted. Could happen to the honey badger.
