Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel

I don't think there's any chance Kyle becomes our head coach. Such logic assumes mike shanahan will retire in 2 years when his contracts up. Mike will only be 62 then. Why would he want to retire from coaching? And we certainly couldn't fire him and promote Kyle. At some point, Kyle is going to leave and be a head coach somewhere else. I just hope he grooms his replacement before he goes. I'm not comfortable with mike shanahan being head coach and play caller.

I don't think Kyle Shanahan is ready for a head coaching job. He's not always comfortable in front of the media and he still needs to mature.
Agree. Remember Kyle running down the hall berating the official early in the season? Cant do that. I think Kyle needs a little more time.

@BHA, Mike Shanny regarded as one of the best playcallers in the league when he was doing it. I wouldnt have a problem with him doing both.

I see what your saying and makes sense but, if Mike can get a SB in the next 2 years he may want to go out on top. That was my thinking. Some variables involved... but definitely incentive for Kyle to hang around awhile.

Yeah, that was incredibly immature.

But to be fair, it was 14 games ago. Recent evidence suggests he's ready to take more on his plate.

That's fair enough.

He wouldn't be the first HC to berate an official and until they (officials) become perfect I'd hope to see more of the same.

I understand it's against the rules but WTF is up with a system where they can make a howlingly awful call, most recently the prolonged Cowboys snap that resulted in a TD, and the coaches have to meekly accept it?

I want a coach that fights for the call to be correct.

Yeah, but you cant chase the official off the field into the tunnel. You have to take the proper steps after the game with the league.

bad calls happen all the time, cant get hung up on it

Whilst I understand that there will always be the element of human error but I don't want a HC that shrugs like Norv used to.

On another topic, why isn't there more use of technology? RFID in the ball. Lasers on goal lines, so much that could be implemented.

NFL does not want to go to far because altho that would make for a more precise game, the NFL would lose some of its "influence" on the game.
Like this...

You mean to tell me they couldn't review that "upstairs"??? Of course they could have. NFL "official" excuse - The Ref looks at the clock and then the players so they get a extra little blip, give me a f$^#& break!!!

Trouble is the official time is kept on the field.

And in the end I don't think they want to slow down the game any more by opening more things up for review.

Report: Andy Reid wants to coach Chargers

Wonder if old Norv will be back in the NFC East Philly style.
