Yeah. RG3 sounds like his dog just died; saying (sort of) the right things... not as good as Kirk at this.

I get the whole he's the coach, and he shouldn't have drafted RG3 if he didn't want him but if you never have had a supervisor or owner over top of you tell you that you will do something (and you don't want to do it) then you will never understand.

I'm probably 100% wrong. I didn't want MS to begin with I wanted Jon Gruden. In reality its stupid that I keep defending MS because if he's gone that opens the door for the guy I wished the team brought in. lol. But I just get the feeling there is a ton of animosity directed possibly at the wrong person. and 5 yrs down the road all we will be able to do is say "dang I wish I knew that back then, Snyder is such a douche." No... "I'm sorry MS." or anything.

I kinda get the whole secret squirrel BS that MS does. Gibbs was the opposite and would put all the injuries out there and who was playing or not and why. MS just looks at football like a military strategist. He does not want to give the enemy anything to prepare for. Then you got the players coming out and being honest and saying whatever but it's totally opposite of what MS said. <makes him a dick. I think in the perfect world MS would like to have put a ban on the media like the Patriots have done.

You know what screw it. Fire him. Lets bring on the next new toy to get excited about cause thats all we got to get excited about. New players and new coaches. Especially since the team is not going anywhere.

I'm almost ashamed to say this but after this last weeks game.... I did seriously think... what other team could I point my allegiance to. This team has been my home team for my hole life, I'm 47. I grew up in this area. I've seen the good years. I've lived the good years. But I'm so tired of the losing. The negativity. Everything. I'm just exhausted with this team. Then why would I change? cause there is one common factor in all the years. They have changed coaches, changed players, changed QB's, changed GM's, etc. etc. etc. Nothing seems to work, but there is one thing that remains the same everytime and that is the owner.
No.

"Dan Snyder has given Mike Shanahan everything he wanted. Mike Shanahan told Dan Snyder not to hire him if he didn't give him five years to turn things around. Dan Snyder gave him a 5 year contract. Mike Shanahan asked for total control, including the role of general manager. Dan gave it to him (despite the fact that the actual general manager Bruce Allen wasn't totally sold on Shanahan). Dan gave him full control of the cap, full control of player acquisition. He built him a training bubble, remodeled Redskins Park, renovated the stadium, okayed the trade of three first round picks to secure a franchise quarterback."

"Versus Seattle, his decision to keep RGIII in the game - a decision he said to have made because he couldn't afford losing the kid's trust - wound up costing him exactly that. But even before that, the relationship was damaged, as RGIII asked (not demanded, not went behind Mike's back to Dan, simply asked) to not run the read-option."

..."Mike never took any responsibility for what happened on that cold January day. In fact, he went so far as to blame Dr. James Andrews for suggesting that Robert could play, and pinned more blame on the 22-year-old kid not wanting to come out of the game."

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

More from Chris Cooley. I think decent observation. and fair.

Cooley: Cousins a better pocket passer than RGIII

Quote:
* “[Robert Griffin III] only reads one side of the field, and the Kansas City Chiefs were very aware of that. When he takes the snap, his head goes to whatever side of the field he wants to throw to, and so do the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs. He looks right; you’ve got three guys just running right to pick up routes. They aborted the other side of the field in their zones.”
Quote:
* “His technique right now, as far as dropping and throwing the ball, is dreadful. He’s throwing high over and over and over again. He’s throwing behind guys, he’s missing guys, his accuracy is as low as I’ve seen from a guy who should be a very good quarterback. He is never taking a regular drop from under center. He is only taking awkward pistol drops and shotgun drops. And I believe if you want to evolve him as far as technique goes, it wouldn’t hurt to have him take a five-step drop from under the center. He’s never doing that. We’re never doing that. If they aren’t going to do that ever, they need to work on his technique. It’s like a golfer who moves his feet the entire time he swings….He has such happy feet when he’s in the pocket; even if he’s untouched, free in the pocket, he’s jumping, he’s stepping, he’s got legs flipping everywhere as he throws the ball, and I have such a hard time believing that he can be accurate in that fashion. And he’s not. He’s proving me right, every week. He’s inaccurate.”
Quote:
* “At this point, my belief is that he may not be getting better; he may be developing worse habits that would stay with him for a longer period of time. When Shanahan talked about keeping him healthy, I don’t hate the idea of him coming out to stay healthy. Because he goes from his first read to looking around the offensive line to see if he needs to run. He doesn’t have faith to sit in that pocket and go from one side of the field to the other. His eyes go from first read to am I getting sacked almost simultaneously. And he’s stepping up and making moves to run in the pocket when he goes off read number 1.”

Eeventually, Steve Czaban asked if all of this meant that the Redskins had vastly overpaid for a player who remains a work-in-progress.
“You’re getting close,” Cooley said. “You’re getting close. You would have said the exact same thing about Cam Newton [last season], and he’s having a much better year. [But] he’s got to find a way to grow.”
Kinda says what I've been trying to say all along.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

It will not surprise me if Cousins goes out and plays well and doesn't get sacked at all. He had a whole offseason to work on reading blitzes and adjusting the Oline accordingly. Something RG3 hasn't done all season.

Cousins did it on his first drive last Sunday and completed the pass for a would be first down, but Paulsen fumbled the ball.

I always wonder when people say something like this are you just smh on the post cause you favor RG3 and it paints him in a bad light or is it truly just a smh post?

These were Cooley's words, Cooley's observation, a guy played for the team and knows how to break down film and study what someone is doing wrong. I think everyone is just so pissed at MS that they can't bring them selves to believe maybe RG3 is not what he was supposed to be cracked up to be. Now can he be? I think so but that takes time and practice, practice, practice. Something he didn't have his first year and something he didn't have last yr.

I don't think Crusty was responding to your post.

Remember, Shanny learned to play "hardball" from an even bigger, epic asshole, Al Davis. Funny how he berates the character of Haynesworth and McNabb, leaks unflattering stories about Griffin, yet still has a holier than thou attitude, as if he is a beacon of high character. He can't hold Joe Gibbs's jockstrap in that regard. Good f'ing riddance, MS. And you can take Boy Wonder with you.
