Re: Predict RGIII's next team

The 2012 season (most of it) was a lot of fun but he was a huge waste of time and resources.
I blame Shanahan and the rest of the FO about 60% on the whole deal.
The rest is on Griffin.
I'd rather he went 2nd string on some AFC team so I dont have to hear his name anymore.

In retrospect sure, but at that point in time we absolutely had to make that deal imo. Were you against the trade at the time?
Edit: judging by your post you were obviously against it. Dumb question. Better question: during the 2012 season did you think it was the rite move?

Re: Predict RGIII's next team

I didnt like the trade at first but I became convinced Griffin was the Messiah so I was for it.
After that famous vs Vikings 75 yard touch down run I had forgotten all about the picks we gave up.
Now I would never ever ever ever give up an additional first rounder for any pick.
That was a major setback for us.

Cousins plus three early first rounders sounds really sweet rite now. So does paying attention in school and having a good job. not making that wrong turn in Albuquerque. God the list goes on and on.

Re: Predict RGIII's next team

ESPN's Ed Werder suggested on SportsCenter Tuesday that the 49ers are free agent Robert Griffin III's best bet as a landing spot.

Werder said he anticipates Chip Kelly having "interest" in Griffin, "depending on what happens with Colin Kaepernick." The 49ers' intentions with Kaepernick are unclear, but he has requested a trade out of San Francisco. Werder also passed along word from at least one NFL coach that believes Griffin is "done," but who does expect him to get signed "based on what he did in 2012."

Yep. I remember your good ol' pal Metalskins mentioning how I felt it made sense for Griffin to be in San Fran, although I was hoping for some weird three team trade deal.

I never hated the guy, and will always remember the 2012 "dream" season. The most exciting season since the last superbowl. That was one hell of a ride.

It is great you really love RGIII. RGIII is an available FA snd he will evaluated by teams and media. That is part of the process. The criticism is not about his personal life away from football. It is directly to do with what kind of player and teammate he has been and will be. Not smearing imo.

I generally thought RG3 handled a most uncomfortable demotion with class last year. In fact most dealings with folks outside the locker room was with class. There have been a long list of QBs who didn't get along together within the team, but as long as its kept in-house and professional it doesn't matter.

I don't look back at RG3 tenure and think "locker room cancer"...just don't.

I don't think Mr. Bob was a locker room cancer either. I think he felt the only way to be accepted by everyone was to be the best on the field. But that isn't always what gets you accepted into the family.
