We lost 2 young starting caliber DBs (Bree and Fuller), and gave up on another young dB (Sua). Ok Sua gave up on us. Either way, our secondary is dramatically weaker than it has been the last few years. Either 1st or 2nd round pick has to be a DB.

I hear you, but I'd counterbalance that reminding that we should be expecting quite a lot of improvement from Moreau and Nicholson in their second years, Dunbar should also have room for improvement entering his 5th year at this position, and we signed Scandrick.

So I'd say improving our front 7 still is a higher priority.

I'm going to echo some of you guys who have been listening to the Cooley film breakdowns.

If we make a pick at 13 and don't trade back, get a game changing All Pro caliber talent, Edmunds, Fitzpatrick, James, Smith, or whoever.

I would rather have an All pro caliber talent at any position, than an above average player at a position of need. Stars make plays and change games.

What’s impressive is not just the big hits and wow plays...his dissecting the play and awareness is off the charts.

He'd be my pick in 2 seconds. Just imagine having a LB that can actually cover TE's.

To me he's the 2nd best player overall in the draft behind Nelson.. Have watched tape on both and they are both Elite talent. Chubb is right behind at 3.

My thing with Smith is he has the speed, playmaking ability and can cover a TE. He just looks like a potentially great player that doesn't come off the field. Plus he is a pure tackler. We just haven't had many guys like that on our defense. I just don't think Smith will be there at 13.

Would love him or edmunds. If one of them fell to us, it would be hard to even consider offers to Trade down.

Scrolling across the bottom of espn screen...Redskins: only team to allow at least 4.5 yards per rush the last 3 season.

I can’t stress this enough, NT/DT is a major fucking need. It’s pathetic...

2.7 yards per rush last year when Jonathan Allen and Matt ionitas were healthy. We definitely need to upgrade at DT, but we made upgrades last year - we were just decimated by injuries so we didn’t get to see the improvement over the course of the entire year that we should have seen. This draft is also supposedly fairly deep at NT. It’s not imperative to reach for Vea or Payne when there should be a far superior player like Fitzpatrick, smith, James or Edmunds still on the board.

We shouldn’t reach, but an entire offseason and NOT get NT again is completely and utterly incompetentence by the front office. It’s not a coincidence that we haven’t had a viable NT these 3 years and have averaged 4.5 ypc against, worst inthe league. I really really wished we have gotten Hankins.

We still can. I think if we don’t get a NT in rounds 1 or 2, we’ll sign Hankins.

Depending on the draft we definitely could still get Hankins, but it would have been nice to have him up front. That said, my biggest fear with this FO is that they continue to ignore the glaring need at NT.

Part of my hope that the Giants take Barkley revolves around forcing our FO to take run defense more serious.
