Re: Redskins Lions postgame
You're also comparing a first round monster to a guy we picked up. Also, Houston suns a totally different defense then we do.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
The damn thing that is just really irking me is the offense. I know the defense sux but damn it, it wasn't great last year. The oline inconsistencies, some decisions from rg3, the game planning, the non use of players like fed Davis and helu and even Darryl young, etc. I really at a loss. Sometimes it seems like we are doing too much to get into any type of offensive flow. I'd really like to see alfmo with more than 15 carries in a close game

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I don't think it is a dumb post at all. The NFL seems to tolerate the Hip Hop culture and let's face it, it has permeated American society for almost 20 years. Are you telling me that there hasn't been a watering down of both the character, sportsmanship, and the quality of play in the NFL over the said time period? The kids raised in this culture have been programmed to chase two things: tail and $$$$$$$$. There is absolutely no incentive for these kids to really focusing on winning when they are getting millions up front before they play down one. They win they get paid, they lose they get paid. Yeah doing well will get them a contract extension, and if they really do well more $$$$$$$, but these guys are set for life with the initial contract anyway. How many players did you ever see joke or laugh on the sidelines back in the day if they were getting their arses handed to them? Now you always see it. Maybe I am wrong in focusing on hip hop culture, but the culture in general is all about $$$$$$. Have to give these guys some real incentives to win, and if it has to be restructuring the way they get paid, I am all for it. That is the gist of my posts.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
We are going to be okay fella's. What you need to realize is we really beat ourselves today. We know what we are right now, and without RG3 playing to his potential he did last year it makes reality set in. Salary Cap hurt us so we are stuck with guys like Robinson who are one trick ponies, but drop the winning touchdown.
We have a good foundation and I really believe that. We just need to play better and get back to playing as good as we did last year. We are obviously capable of it. It's not like it's a myth.

Most of these guys are at least decent athletes. And so long as they know the line between work and play (which many of them, admittedly don't) then who are they hurting? TL;DR - There are bad eggs in every sport and in life in general. This is the way of the world.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I will say it can have some similar effects, but there is nothing wrong with Bowen. We do need Jenkins back, and I really hope that we continue to play more man next week. Of course, we most likely will not because Haslett will be scared of Pryor's legs.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Gus give me a break. If what your saying was remotely true the game wouldn't be thriving as it is. Most of these players are professionals work their asses off day in and day out and represent their organizations in their communities across the nation as role models. Sure the media will hype the bad apples but overall these kids are playing the game they love, getting paid well and giving back to there respected community. Some young guys don't get it but how can u complain about the character of rg3 and alfmo

The NFL is the last league to not have guaranteed contracts and fines the players more than any other league. They have a pretty restrictive rookie salary cap. But if you think that you can get all players to accept minimum wage and make an extra 10 bucks per int or td, good luck with that. I would really love to see you accomplish that. |

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Let me start over here. First, I shouldn't have brought this up today. The reality is that at 3-0 I'd probably be thinking the same thing. I mean I've talked at least to Matty about this. I'm not talking about letting him go now. Not at all. What I'm saying after this season he should move on. Or Mike should. One of them. Pick a plan and move forward with that. I don't believe they have the same plan, and that can be hidden only so long
