Re: Redskins fire GM Scot McCloughan

As long as whoever they pick meshes well with Bruce and Jay, that's all I care about. It's a pipe dream to think one guy is going to come in and have 100% autonomy. Oh and save the boozing until you're off the clock please.

Bruce Allen’s reign at Redskins Park? A record of 45-66-1.

can't argue it's been more bust then boom, but we did win 2 division titles in 4 years and the first back to back winning seasons in ages. It's also kind of weird that Cerrato's includes 5 more games?

I don't think most anyone is saying BA is the best ever, but he clearly has had an effect reducing DS direct interference, and hopefully we will find the right combination of a solid GM-Talent guy, a strong HC, and BA .

Chris Cooley apologizes to Scot McCloughan, swears he wasn’t Redskins’ mouthpiece

I just copy and pasted from the story, so I am not sure if the records are correct.
I just thought it was relevant to the blame being laid at SM feet. If SM is going to be harshly judged, then lets judge and grade everyone. Bruce Allen remains and the questions needs to be asked....why?

He is Dans obligatory sycophant. He has attempted to bring in people with GM talent in MS and SM and won a division title with both. Vinny didn'tbring in faux GMs and led a downward spiral ending with a zorny outcome.

Anyone that has a legit resume or past history of success should stay clear of Redskin Park. They need to just hire from within and give Sanots, Williams or Campbell the GM job. Those guys know the drill and can work under the way the Redskins do business.. Someone from the outside with a personality like Mayock will not work here. They're just wasting everyone's time putting that out there.

Mayock gave a written statement on NFLN this evening saying that he has not been approached by the Redskins, has has not spoken to anyone from the Redskins organization and he has not had any conversations about a job with the Redskins.

Re: Redskins fire GM Scot McCloughan

Sometimes people are comfortable being in an advisory capacity. Who knows, maybe Mayock would be ok giving his draft board to Jay and Bruce and letting them execute it as they saw fit.

That's clearly what Allen wanted from McCloughan. That would have been fine if it was explained that way up front, to both Scot and the public.

Correct, but that doesn't mean he's not a candidate. At the moment they're all way too busy with free agency to start contacting GM candidates. One thing at a time.

They probably are just in the process of creating a short list at this point. I'd think they'll think about hiring after the draft. Before McC left he had the draft board done, so they'll ride into this draft using his board and start fresh with a new GM after that.

Re: Redskins fire GM Scot McCloughan

It's a tough calll to think which road is the best...internal guy, someone outside familiar with Bruce and the org or a total outsider....I just extremely disappointing to hear the organization still has this divisive and petty nature going on within the confines of skins park. This situation was absurd and how it was handled...

I got nothing...my preference would be a fresh, strong personality within the org from the outside. Mayock kinda has a personality like that...I don't want Doug Williams.

And that Cooley piece, he can go fuck himself. Playing dumb ain't gonna work at this point.
