Re: Coaching Staff update
This might be a decent pick. Plus he's available. Trained by A.Gibbs. The only thing that worries me is the comment about Tampa letting him go due to his inability to communicate with the plays to the players? WTF is that? He have a stroke or something? The good news is he's not that old either, 46.
Jeff Jagodzinski - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
During his time with the Atlanta Falcons, Jagodzinski learned offensive zone blocking schemes from Alex Gibbs, the architect of successful NFL offensive lines such as the Denver Broncos that won Super Bowl XXXII.

Jagodzinski was hired as the offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 29, 2009 following the promotion of Raheem Morris, who had been elevated to head coach following Jon Gruden's departure.[4] On September 3, 2009, the day before the team's final preseason game, the Buccaneers announced that they had dismissed Jagodzinski from his role and replaced him with quarterbacks coach Greg Olson.[5] The firing came due to concerns about Jagodzinski's ability to communicate plays. Morris offered to let him stay on as quarterbacks coach, but Jagodzinski declined.[6]
Never mind I re-read the article and noticed he was the OC in Tampa during this time when he was fired for lack of communication skills. Some people are best suited to be coordinators. ![]() |

Yeah who knows.. maybe Shanahan likes what he saw/heard from Meidt and wanted a role for him, we're not even sure of the role yet are we? I guess I'll have to look to see who helped develop QBs under Shanahan previously. |

Re: Coaching Staff update
I think that I'm the only one that likes new threads for separate news items.. looks good to new users, allows you to discuss that alone (until it gets hijacked to be about Campbell, Landry, etc) and whatnot

I guess if we have no other option then we should just keep Smith cause for no other reason I guess he's consistant. But I think if this team is kinda in renovation mode and trying to get better it would be rediculously crazy to not to pick up April who is free for the taking right now. We don't have to ask anyone for permission. We don't have to come up with any cute titles to pick him up. Plus we hear all the time from HC's throughout the league about how ST's is such an important puzzle and we are going to sit back and go ...well, he's kinda expensive so maybe it's not that important. We would rather stay consistantly good vs. becoming great at an expense. |

Re: Coaching Staff update
Alright so if I understand it, this is how the Skin's coaching staff is shaping up. Still they weren't kidding when they said they were going to find and assemble the best coaching staff they could.
Head Coach: Mike Shanahan Offensive Coordinator: Kyle Shanahan Defensive Coordinator: Jim Haslet Special Teams Coordinator: Possibly Bobby April QB's: Chris Meidt (Holdover form previous regime) RB's: Bobby Turner (Also will serve as Associate Head Coach) WR's: Richard Mann TE's: Possibly Scott Wachenheim OL: Still looking LB's:Lou Spanos DL: Possibly Mike Waufle DB's: Bob Slowick (There will probably be another coach specializing in safeties or corners)

Re: Coaching Staff update
Is Jagodzinski a solid lead or the result of people connecting the dots since he worked under Alex Gibbs?

Re: Coaching Staff update
Well anyone seems like an upgrade over Hixon but as others have pointed out he was able to get the most out of guys like Westbrook and Gardner. He also helped Antonio Bryant get to where he is today. I'm pretty sure you can also add Joey Galloway and Michael Clayton as a rookie to his list of credentials.
